The grimalkin were once a people divided. There were grimalkin native to the Feywild and grimalkin native to the Shadowfell. The two sides were locked in a war which, for grimalkin, meant an endless parade of usually harmless, often elaborate, and occasionally cruel pranks. As the war dragged on from decades to millennia, denizens of the Shadowfell and the Feywild conspired with one another for a way to be rid of these nuisances for good. Eventually an agreement was struck and the grimalkin were driven from the Shadowfell and the Feywild and a curse was laid over their race that only so many could gather in each of those realms at a time. Although annoyed at having to endure the consequences of forced relocation, the grimalkin were quite pleased with the dramatic extent of the reaction their warring had elicited in others.

The Justiciar, an Intelligence-based half-caster class of magical law and order! Justiciars serve the Arcane Court, an independent, nation-neutral justice system that can be implemented into any campaign setting. Justiciars cultivate a small reservoir of quickly recharging arcane energy they use to cast their spells and summon a Binding Cell, which can be used to trap foes, protect allies, or simply put an obstacle on the battlefield to control the flow of combat. Justiciars go through years of rigorous mental and physical conditioning before being allowed to join the Court, so they have encyclopedic knowledge about magical law and the creatures over which they have jurisdiction. Once a justicar joins the Court, he must prove himself in order to be selected to join one of the Court's Justiciar Divisions, which are based on the branches of the US Justice System!

The Emergent, a highly customizable martial class that lets you put your entire soul into roleplaying. Emergents summon the physical manifestations of their souls, called incarnations, to fight, explore, and roleplay alongside them. An incarnation is an amazing source of utility and additional options for a party, but is a massive risk to the emergent because the body and soul share a hit point pool and action economy. This high risk, high reward gameplay can lead to some intense and satisfying moments in combat. An emergent is defined by his or her choice of Incarnation Type, which determines the style of utility, exploration, and combat his or her incarnation can bring to bear. An incarnation can also be customized by many different Incarnation Aspect choices, which are aspects of the emergent's personality that have a physiological effect on the incarnation.

The Odic, a Wisdom-based spellcasting class that uses an ancient and dangerous method - sacrificing its life force as its spellcasting resource! Heavily inspired by the magic used by the shamans of Norse mythology, odyllic magic is from a barbaric time long before arcanists discovered the Weave, a time in which the Old Tongue was spoken and tattoos were used to channel one's own vitality through the body and out into the surrounding world. Every odic is at least partially covered in a network of these runic tattoos, allowing them to channel their vitality through their bodies and into life forms outside themselves. This network begins, and is defined by, the odic's choice of Heart Rune, which determines the core nature of their life force manipulating abilities.

The Faraway Explorers are a company of treasure hunters currently operating out of the city of Luskan. They have recently discovered the ruins of an ancient fortress of the giants called Knorlfesting, located on an uncharted island in the Sea of Moving Ice. During a successful expedition to explore the ruins, so many artifacts of historical significance and value were discovered that they could not fit on the expedition ship to bring back. Upon returning to Luskan, a second expedition was quickly mounted to pick up the remaining artifacts. In addition to the Erebos—the company’s own ship—a former pirate ship called the Terror of Ten Towns was leased and retrofitted for the icebound journey. Along with a sailing crew and the members of the exploration company, a number of adventurers were hired on to assist the expedition. An uneventful outbound journey allowed for the safe loading of the remaining artifacts into the ships’ cargo holds and the two ships set out on the return journey across the Sea of Moving Ice.

Grimalkin

The grimalkin were once a people divided. There were grimalkin native to the Feywild and grimalkin native to the Shadowfell. The two sides were locked in a war which, for grimalkin, meant an endless parade of usually harmless, often elaborate, and occasionally cruel pranks. As the war dragged on from decades to millennia, denizens of the Shadowfell and the Feywild conspired with one another for a way to be rid of these nuisances for good. Eventually an agreement was struck and the grimalkin were driven from the Shadowfell and the Feywild and a curse was laid over their race that only so many could gather in each of those realms at a time. Although annoyed at having to endure the consequences of forced relocation, the grimalkin were quite pleased with the dramatic extent of the reaction their warring had elicited in others.

The Justiciar, an Intelligence-based half-caster class of magical law and order! Justiciars serve the Arcane Court, an independent, nation-neutral justice system that can be implemented into any campaign setting. Justiciars cultivate a small reservoir of quickly recharging arcane energy they use to cast their spells and summon a Binding Cell, which can be used to trap foes, protect allies, or simply put an obstacle on the battlefield to control the flow of combat. Justiciars go through years of rigorous mental and physical conditioning before being allowed to join the Court, so they have encyclopedic knowledge about magical law and the creatures over which they have jurisdiction. Once a justicar joins the Court, he must prove himself in order to be selected to join one of the Court's Justiciar Divisions, which are based on the branches of the US Justice System!

The Emergent, a highly customizable martial class that lets you put your entire soul into roleplaying. Emergents summon the physical manifestations of their souls, called incarnations, to fight, explore, and roleplay alongside them. An incarnation is an amazing source of utility and additional options for a party, but is a massive risk to the emergent because the body and soul share a hit point pool and action economy. This high risk, high reward gameplay can lead to some intense and satisfying moments in combat. An emergent is defined by his or her choice of Incarnation Type, which determines the style of utility, exploration, and combat his or her incarnation can bring to bear. An incarnation can also be customized by many different Incarnation Aspect choices, which are aspects of the emergent's personality that have a physiological effect on the incarnation.

The Odic, a Wisdom-based spellcasting class that uses an ancient and dangerous method - sacrificing its life force as its spellcasting resource! Heavily inspired by the magic used by the shamans of Norse mythology, odyllic magic is from a barbaric time long before arcanists discovered the Weave, a time in which the Old Tongue was spoken and tattoos were used to channel one's own vitality through the body and out into the surrounding world. Every odic is at least partially covered in a network of these runic tattoos, allowing them to channel their vitality through their bodies and into life forms outside themselves. This network begins, and is defined by, the odic's choice of Heart Rune, which determines the core nature of their life force manipulating abilities.

The characters encounter Vagrant, an intrepid myconid scout living within Araumycos who is looking for outside help for a great crisis that has befallen their colony – vast parts of Araumycos are dying and they do not know why or how to stop it. When the party accepts Vagrant’s plea for help, they are led underground through a secret passage. There’s one catch: Vagrant uses the shrinking pygmywort mushroom to get them all inside – but they have no matching bigwig mushrooms left to restore them to their actual size again! The party soon discovers that the mystery of the dying colony and a fresh source for bigwig mushrooms may be closely linked…

The sprawling Yuirwood also houses the greatest population of half-elves in all the Realms. Since the death of Simbul, Aglarond has been under attack by the Red Wizards of Thay to the east, the Abolethic Sovereignty from far beyond, and incursions from the Feywild within the ancient Yuirwood. The few Star Elves that once called Yuir home have found their new cosmology adjacent to attack from mysterious sorcerers known as Nilshai, and this conflict overflows into the Yuirwood itself.

The Faraway Explorers are a company of treasure hunters currently operating out of the city of Luskan. They have recently discovered the ruins of an ancient fortress of the giants called Knorlfesting, located on an uncharted island in the Sea of Moving Ice. During a successful expedition to explore the ruins, so many artifacts of historical significance and value were discovered that they could not fit on the expedition ship to bring back. Upon returning to Luskan, a second expedition was quickly mounted to pick up the remaining artifacts. In addition to the Erebos—the company’s own ship—a former pirate ship called the Terror of Ten Towns was leased and retrofitted for the icebound journey. Along with a sailing crew and the members of the exploration company, a number of adventurers were hired on to assist the expedition. An uneventful outbound journey allowed for the safe loading of the remaining artifacts into the ships’ cargo holds and the two ships set out on the return journey across the Sea of Moving Ice.
